Driver Ed
November 8-9, 2008
The mission and purpose of the Dark Side Driver Ed program is to provide a safe, structured and controlled teaching and learning environment. The program is designed for participants to improve their driving abilities and acquire a better understanding of vehicle dynamics and driving safety. Participants will experience first-hand the capabilities of high performance automobiles in a controlled, closed-course environment and acquire skills that will enhance safer vehicle operation in all driving situations. Dark Side Driver Ed events are not racing, preparation for racing, nor a competition of any kind. No times or placings are recorded and no awards or prizes are received by the participants. Any conduct considered to be either unsafe or inconsistent with the spirit or purpose of the Driver Education Program will not be permitted.
Driver Ed Time Schedule

Thursday
5:30pm-10pm • Gate opens at Roebling Road for dropping off campers and trailers
Friday, Subject to change!
8:30am Roebling Road Raceway Lapping day.
(Requirement: Must have had at least one full weekend as SOLO in white run group)
Rates: $150.00 per person (Pre-Registered)

3pm-6pm • Tech at track - at the Tech Shed
6:30pm • Tech at the host hotel - around the back and to the side by the hospitality suite
6:30 pm • Holiday Inn Meeting Room starts serving refreshments.

Saturday
7am-8am • Roebling Road Raceway Tech, Ralph Maggioni, Safety Steward (Time for Saturday tech is etched in stone, if late, expect to be teched later.)
Tech Schedule
7:45 am • Chief DE Instructor speaks to all instructors (attendance mandatory) in the Tech area
8am-8:20am • Drivers meeting for all drivers in the Tech area. Attendance is mandatory for all drivers.
8:30am • Classroom instruction mandatory attendance for Green Group.
8:20am-8:30am • First car out on the track
11am • (Approx.) Boys & Girl Clubs arrive
12 Noon • Boys & Girls follow the pace car on the track
2:00pm • Classroom instruction for advanced drivers, to refresh and learn more.
5:30pm • BBQ at the track
Sunday
8am-8:25am • Chief DE Instructor speaks to all drivers in the Tech area. Attendance is mandatory
8:30am • First car on track
8:30am • Green students to classroom
10:50am • Family Parade Review: no passing allowed, no speeding, keeping up with the paradeNo helmet necessary, must have a valid driver’s license
11:00am • Family Parade
11:00am-Noon • Quiet time
12 Noon • Quiet time is over and it’s back to the track
Evening • Please drive home safely. See you at the next event!
